North Spillway 01

A very long cement river structure made from sintered sandstone. It becomes a seasonal roadway and place of contemplation in the dry months. A hazy, static feeling surrounds the area. Buzzing insects live along the green creek that flows in its lowest groove. Silt is removed during the flash floods for which it was built.

Purpose / Function

It directs rainfall from flash floods safely to the Vein

Alterations

In some areas, it is spanned by simple bridges and canopies. Damaged areas get filled in by creek mud cement repair work.

Architecture

Monolithic utilitarian architecture leaves no artistic touch to this structure

History

Laid down during the first settlement, it continues to serve the people many generations later.
