Sol used to be the homeworld of the Human civilization. Unfortunately, as is in their nature the humans destroyed themselves. Instead of working with the planet, they chose to exploit it. Now the oceans are dried up, the atmosphere is gone, and it is still a toxic wasteland. Ironically, after the planet was abandoned many civilizations started dumping their trash and garbage onto the surface of the planet. Humans have long since left and went on to colonize bigger and better things. Hopefully this time they will have learned from their mistakes, but probably not. 
The only thing of note about this planet is that, Johnny bones, Silver, and Empress Nox still seem to come visit.
