Temple of Peace and Bounty
This open-air temple was a white, circular structure, filled with a lush garden of vines, small trees and bushes, decorated by a small spring of water that circulated an raised plataform at the center of the structure, before dropping down into the waters of lake Asmul. Ontop of this plataform were the stony intertwining shapes of two women, one sitting ontop of countless branches and the second laying over a still wave. Both figures had one hand raised over their heads, reaching for a beautiful glass orb that swirled with blue and green mists that wouldn't mix, in a magical dance of colors.
Purpose / Function
This temple was buit by the peoples of the Everwoods to signal an everlasting peace between the godesses of the rivers and the forest. Its goal was to hold an artifact of power imbued with the powers of both deities, which would stand separated from the lake and the forests, capable of offering its blessings to both at the same time, and to any pilgrims who would offer their prayers to the two realms as one.
History
Prior to its construction, both the goddesses and their worshippers had been involved in countless disputes over rulersip of the lands. While neither wanted the forests destroyed, both had their own goals for what society should flourish within its hallowed grounds.
The peace would indeed last for many centuries, and both civilizations flourished within the forests. However at some point a great betrayal took place, and the temple of the lady of the woods was ransacked. With the peace violated, a horrible cataclism overtook the temple, and in a horrible storm, it was cast deep under the waters of the lake.
