City of Balios
The great capital city of Balios lies on the southern edges of the Amberwood in northern Balios. Known for its wealthy merchants, taltented artisans and the great lake Asmul.
The city gets its water supplied by the eternal river Bali, which also carries most of its merchants into, and outside of the city.
History
The elders tell of a band of loggers that got lost when they let their greed stop them from leaving the forest after sunset. After walking in circles for many hours they were becoming hopeless, and believed that they were being punished for disrespecting the forest and cutting down too many trees.
After one of them suggested the men made an oath to always plant the seeds of any tree they killed, so that their offspring may live and the forest may heal, they were rewarded with the sounds of running water.
Upon following these misterious sounds, they found themselves at the shores of a great and deep river that streched for many miles. After quenching their thirst, the men made their way alongside the river, as if it were a holy trail, presented to them as a reward. At the end of their journey their eyes were delighted to meet the most beautiful view of their lives as the river ended up on an enourmous lake, surrounded by the Amberwood.
As the men bathed on the lake, their wounds healed, and they felt at home, but they still missed their families.
Upon hearing their pleas, the forest presented them with berries and game, and the promise that if they made their way back along the river util its end, and then proceeded onwards without looking back, they would find their way back to their families, and that the forest would welcome them back as long as they respected their oath.
