Tãsyn (TAh-sin)

the Feathered Mother

Divine Domains

Tãsyn is the goddess of hope, the sky, beginnings, sight, and aid. It is said that her appearance is heralded by the aurora australis and those who gaze upon the two sights together feel hope everlasting.

Artifacts

Nothing has ever been crafted by Tãsyn, however, it is said that her feathers fall from the sky when the aurora is seen and that they have the power to call back a recently departed soul to their body.

Tenets of Faith

As a god, Tãsyn asks very little of her followers. There's not much of any kind of clergy to enforce an orthodoxy, instead she is revered quietly by druids, midwives, and people from the far south. Her "will" is rarely invoked but rather those devoted to her embody kindness, hope, and hold beginnings in high regard.

Holidays

In the Wend and the Frozen Tier there are two holidays dedicated to Tãsyn, one in summer and one in winter.
Gwan Dastâg ("Last Day of Winter") is held within the first week of summer. It's epitomized by the intense joy the people feel upon seeing the sun again--or for the first time as the case may be. Clans will begin building more permanent settlements, traditional dishes that are fermented the entire length of winter are served, and children burn their winter furs.
Ástin Gwan ("Mid-Winter") signals the half-way point of the the sunless winter. During this three-week period, the aura australis is visible in the sky over the sea between the Frozen Tier and the Wend, which is usually frozen by this time. Many tribes take this time to rally their numbers and take pilgrimage to Rymskríd, a massive temple in the Wend dedicated to Tãsyn and another entity who's name is lost to time but remains important to Wend culture.

Social

Family Ties

She’s thought of as the second oldest, or sometimes the mother of all gods, occasionally even depicted as Rigphin’s twin. Again, because of the lack of holy texts or orthodoxy, these competing interpretations of her origins and relations go broadly unchallenged.
The only god that has ever called her mother is Zagreus, all others insist that they have no or different parentage.

On Alignment

Though my tables will never observe strict alignment adherence, there are those who find knowing what alignments are common among a god's followers can be useful for roleplaying a faithful. Tãsyn is tolerant of all non-evil alignments.
