Qharies (care-ees)

the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst, the Crow Queen, Lady of Vengeance

"Crow Queen, hear my cry! Desend upon those who wronged me with your terrible vengeance! Drive a dagger through their hearts and feed their innards to your noble carrion! My soul for retribution!"

Divine Domains

Qharies is the god of vengeance, carrion birds, coins, and pain. In her realm of Cainhurst, she punishes those killed by her followers and gives her followers purpose in death.

Holy Books & Codes

The only holy text, such as it is, dedicated to Qharies is The Journal of Pain and Vengeance, a personal dairy of a woman who's name isn't known. She recounts the tale of her family home and village being burned down, her friends and family murdered, and her question for vengeance.
That said, the Talons are her most faithful and use Visions of the Beast Within as a sort of guide on how to hunt down sequence killers. They even use it to divine the future, so rumors say.

Tenets of Faith

Qharies doesn't issue edicts so much as she is the patron of very particular individuals. She is not a god who is casually worshipped—her domain is strictly for zealots. As such, worship is generally idiosyncratic but there are groups who enforce an orthodoxy amongst their ranks.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

It is said that any person killed by her followers is sent to the dungeons of Cainhurst Castle in the afterlife where they are tortured. As such, her followers are sometimes hired to chase and kill individuals guilty of crimes like treason, arson, or certain kinds of theft.
It's her divine mission to oppose Rigphin as well. Her cult, the Talons, is a sect of the Custodi Nobili Morté dedicated to hunting sequence killers, Rigphin worshipers, and the undead.

On Alignment

Though my tables will never observe strict alignment adherence, there are those who find knowing what alignments are common among a god's followers can be useful for roleplaying a faithful. Qharies is not picky about her followers, only that they thirst for vengeance. As such, those with a chaotic or neutral bent tend to gravitate more towards her.

Qharies as a Patron

Very few members of the Custodi Nobile Morte become Talons and even fewer make a pact with the goddess directly. There's an ancient ritual that involves coming very close to death so one may travel to Cainhurst and attend her court. They must beg her favor. If they live they're endowed with the Pact of the Hexblade.    Rarely, there have been those known to become so filled with vengeance that the Crow of Cainhurst can feel their thirst for vengeance even from her throne. On these occasions, the goddess sees fit to send forth a messenger to bind with this mortal to create a warlock of the Fiend, Great Old One, or Hexblade Pacts.
