Species Traits

• Creature Type: Humanoid
• Size: Small (about 3–4 feet tall)
• Speed: 30 feet
• Age: Gnomes tend to live to be about 90 years of age.
• Nautical Gnomes: You are proficient with water vehicles. In addition, you have advantage on survival checks when at sea and proficiency with bidents.
• Nimble: You can move through the space of any creature that is of a Size larger than yours, but you can’t stop there.
• Of Course I can Swim: You have a swim speed of 20ft and advantage on athletics checks made while in water.

History

Gnomes hale from the Mârton Cays and are the chosen people of the goddess Soge who is the political leader of Blüfelden, the seat of power in the Cays. Soge's religion is baked into their culture and day-to-day and the insular culture doesn't allow for a lot of deviation from this. Excepting Blüfelden (a rather large and illustrious city) gnomes tend to live in small fishing communities that span the islands. 
There are a few gnomish communities in places like Od Pholix and the far western parts of Karstland but in the rest of the world it is incredibly rare to see a gnome.
