Keltan or Main Gauche

Of Lythian origin, the Keltan (Main Gauche) is a dagger with a forward pointed guard.  It is designed to be used in the offhand to catch or turn an opponent's blade and to deliver a riposte. The weight of most primary weapons makes the Keltan dangerous to use in combat, it also requires great skill to use effectively and is therefore quite rare.  Though in the hands of a skilled user it can be quite effective.
