Harmonic Conductor's Baton Item in Harmony | World Anvil

Harmonic Conductor's Baton

Crafted from the wood of a tree that grew at the heart of an enchanted forest, where music flowed through the air like water, this elegant baton is adorned with intricate silver filigree and tiny, gem-like notes embedded along its length. When wielded, it allows the user to weave magic and music together, conducting spells and melodies with a flick of the wrist.

Properties:

Melodic Spellcasting: While holding the baton, a spellcaster can use it as a spellcasting focus. Additionally, any spell cast that deals damage can, instead of its normal effects, deal thunder damage as it manifests a wave of concussive musical energy.
Symphony of Protection: Once per long rest, the wielder can conduct a protective melody. Allies within 30 feet gain a +1 bonus to AC and advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened for 10 minutes.
Resonance of the Restored: Twice per day, the wielder can perform a soothing tune that acts as the spell Lesser Restoration without expending a spell slot.
Cacophony of Chaos: Once per long rest, the user can unleash a dissonant barrage. Enemies within a 20-foot radius must make a Wisdom saving throw or be confused (as per the Confusion spell) for 1 minute. The wielder can end the effect early as a bonus action.

Mechanik & Funktionsweise

The baton's abilities are activated through musical cues or conducting gestures, understood innately by those attuned to it. The specific gestures and tunes are inscribed in musical notation along the baton's length, visible only under moonlight.

History

Legend tells of a legendary bard, Melodius the Harmonizer, who sought to bring unity and peace through music. They ventured into the enchanted forest, drawn by its eternal melody, and found the tree that resonated with the pure essence of music. From its wood, they crafted this baton, using it to spread harmony and heal wounds across the land.
