Physical Description:

Katrynne Simms is 5’7” tall with a slim, athletic figure, and her dark hair is worn in a simple style. She wears a plain gold ring on a copper chain around her neck. Her movements are graceful and economical, and her expression most often looks stoic. Though she may show little reaction to things, she is very attentive to her surroundings, and her green gaze is usually direct and intent when she speaks with anyone.

Kat is usually dressed neatly supple leathers, black with brass trim, that are well cared for. She carries a variety of weapons at different times, though usually a pair of swords strapped to her back, and a pistol on her belt. Her black hair is usually left down or pulled back into a neat ponytail.

Although she is most often in human form, she changes to worgen form when she fights. Then, she is a bit taller, and covered in dark fur.

Personality: As the daughter of an overbearing father and a constantly worried mother, Katrynne learned from an early age how to hide her emotions. She has honed that skill throughout her life, finding it useful in protecting secrets, keeping emotional distance from people, and more effectively performing guard duty. Eventually though, all the pent up emotion erupts, sometimes in a violent outburst that is often preceded by too much drink.

Although she seems confident and observant, her stoicism and quiet demeanor, make her also seem aloof and disinterested, which does not earn her any friends. Relationships are difficult for her to both form and sustain, but when she does find a connection with someone, she is extremely loyal and protective, willingly putting herself at risk if necessary for their safety.

She is especially protective of those she perceives as innocent or non-combative, and she has no tolerance for those who would prey on them. Bullies, liars, and thieves are viewed with contempt, as well as anyone unwilling to work hard to help themselves.

Since she regained some control over the worgen curse when she was a young woman, Kat has lived with guilt, both from the kills she made under the curse, and later when she failed to protect someone from being captured and tortured by a fanatical Horde group. Now, she suffers risk and hardship without complaint, believing it to be punishment for her past sins, and part of the atonement she seeks but does not believe she’ll ever accomplish.

Katrynne reveres the Light but was raised to believe that those afflicted by the curse would be forsaken by it. That combined with her later failures, have convinced her that, while she always tries to serve the Light, she will never be worthy to be part of it.
