Khardin
Khardin is the current Captial of the Greater Dvawikharad Empire, not because it is always the Capital, but because it is home to the current High King of the Empire, Brakgrami Flamebeard, who is king of Khardin first and foremost. The reason that Khardin is the Capital and Brakgrami is high king isn't due to it's proximity to Valantar and the Council of the light, (It's literally in the Greyfang Mountains within Valantar).
Khardin is one of the biggest industrial centres in the whole of Hamanshiron, even for a Dwarven Kingdom, everything runs twenty-eight hours a day, 620 days a year, never stopping, never.
There is never a minute that somebody is not working on something throughout the city within the Mountain, though outside the city when the sun goes down only the taverns and inns continue working.
In the mines and veins of gems there are four shifts constatly at work, and constantly protected by soldiers of the Kharad, or very often the Merchant house that employs the miners and laborers employee their own troops, only Clan employees are protected a soldier of the Kharad, no matter the Clan.

At the head of it all the King, but he is just a leader of Clan Flamebeard for the most part but he also has powers to bring laws into effect without the say of the Zodeaverar, but only in certain situations, and he can't change or strike off laws without their say.
Each of the Clans, Guilds and Merchant organisations and the rest of the peoples have their own internal ruling bodies but they are all subservient to the Zodeaverar, but everyone pays the House of Coin, which is the tax man of the Kharad, the House of Coin is an independent body and there is a House of Coin in every Kharad, while King Flamebeard is the Head of the Empire, he also pays taxes, he and his government spend those taxes but in the event of a shift of power to another Kharad the House of Coin would move the money in their Vaults to that Kharad via Airship.
Defences
The Kharad is heavily defended both in the tunnels below, and the four gates, as well as in the settlements around them, the Kharad has a standing army of 30000 odd clan warriors, including Ironbelchers, which is supplemented by pretty much every other adult that isn't required in essential positions, in times of war. Every gate is made of Thranior Oak which is reinforced with pure Blue steel which is one of the hardest metals in existence, and when attacked they can drop another layer of Blue steel in front of the gates. Every hundred feet of the battlements there are towers with cannons and ballistas. The Steam trains are sent down to the bottom of the rails all the airships docks are locked down in the case of an attack.
Industry & Trade
The Kharad industry is constant, smiths and engineers work every hour, every day, and they trade throughout the world.
Infrastructure
There is a massive amount of infrastructure within the Kharad and the settlements around them, roads throughout the city, and into the settlements, aqueducts run water to the city. Steam Trains move goods from the Kharad down the mountain to the town of Halgovar at the bottom of the Mountain which is sovereign Valantari soil, those goods are then shipped around Valantar and the rest of the continent. Airships move goods across the world when their delivery is time sensitive and mostly when it's secret who it's being delivered to as well.

History
Khardin was the second of the Dwarven Kharad's built in the Greyfang Mountains (Unofficially called the Khardin Mountains), above the Wheitari Forest, and ever since has been a rival to Kharad Vargarmal the first Kharad, and apart from a 400 year period after Hanskmyrkk found the way to building Firearns and actually using them, the High Kingship of the Kharads has bounced back and forth between the two Kharads. It is a rivalry steeped in history, the Two Clans who have ruled the two Kharads for the last thousand years have an even deeper rivalry, the Firebeards and the Blackhammers, the Firebeards actually lived in Vargarmal until the Firebeards peed in the Blackhammer's porridge one too many times and they ran the Firebeards out of the Kharad, they would eventually make their way to Khardin with the recipe to every Blackhammer brew and every one of their weapons and armour designs.
They say all is fair in love and war, and this was certainly war, ever since they have been at each others throats, only stopping in times of war, they do everything they can to do each other over, this continues on into the voting for High King, doing everything they can to keep the other off the Throne but put themselves or keep themselves on the Throne.
Architecture
The Kharad is carved right out of the mountain, the buildings within the Kharad are carved in the traditional Dwarven style, blocky with axe motifs all over the place, many buildings even those that are not temples, are covered in iconography of the Dwarven gods, Clan buildings have their own house sigils inscribed in their architecture, the same goes for the Guilds and everyone else.
Geography
The Kharad is built in the middle of the Greyfang Mountains, overlooking the Wheitari Forest, all over the mountains there are lakes that link to the water works, which then run to the Breweries and Distilleries and the aqueducts and tanks to the pipes of all of the homes and businesses of the Kharad. There are spectacular views from the settlements around the Kharad looking out into Valantaria.
Natural Resources
There are hundreds of veins of metal and gems already opened up but there are probably thousands if not millions of veins already under the mountain.
