The Military

The Army

Each of the Noble Houses have a standing military force that can be marshalled by the Archon of the House. These forces are a combined force of the House's personal forces and the various vassals under the house. Members of the Halruaalan infantry are typically trained as spearmen, armed with spears as their primary weapons and shortswords as sidearms. For ranged weapons, most rely on crossbows with certain groups arranged dedicated archers.

Officers outfitting consist of sabers or longswords as their primary weapons with daggers as sidearms. Halruaalan Calvary rely on lances as their primary and shortswords as their sidearms. Whether they are officers or Calvary, each of these members usually are trained with long or shortbows for their ranged weapons.

A typical Squadron is lead by a Corporal. A Unit is lead by a Captain. A Garrison is lead by a Commander. Finally, a Legion is lead by a General. Individual officers operate various functions under the leading rank and an officer's right-hand aide is called their Lieutenant or First officer. The individual who heads a House army is the Grand General.

The Navy

While most Houses have a small flotilla that they deem as a "fleet," aquatic strength usually coalesce with the Nauts. However, with the invention of skyships, the military term "Navy" (as used by the Houses) refers to a collection of flying ships. An individual skyship is lead by a Captain.

A Task Force consists of three skyships and is lead by a Commodore. A fleet consists of six skyships and a Galleon Class skyship. A fleet is lead by an Admiral. Lesser officers operate like the army. The individual who heads a House Navy is the Grand Admiral.
