Free Lands

Geography

The Free Lands are composed of a smattering of small copses of trees, minor rivers, and mounds of minor hills that break up an otherwise unbroken stretch of arctic and tundra like territory that stretches for thousands of miles east to west. There are no known permanent settlements within the Free Lands though it is presumed that some likely exist. The only other notable geographic feature is a frozen marsh known as the Glittering Marshes which stretches for dozens of miles north, south, east, and west. It is a bizarre frozen wasteland that many consider to be both beautiful and terrifying.

Fauna & Flora

Herds of elk and other large pack animals suited to tundra life can be found roaming the vast expanse of the Free Lands as well as several varieties of predator that stalk those same pack animals and carrion birds that pick over what remains of a kill. It's also rumored that large fauna not seen elsewhere can be found in the dark, wild places of the Free Lands.

Natural Resources

While mostly unsuitable for agriculture, the Free Lands does boast a variety of minerals and some small amount of wood from the smatterings of small woods and forests but it is ultimately best suited for the vast quantities of grazing animals that inhabit the region.
