Rekala of Adov

Rekala is the Sage of Adov, the wizard in the lonely tower in the hills of the Deverkel Wastes. She is a lonely, demanding, misanthropic and cynical mage. She views ordinary people as superstitious, ignorant, and lazy - unlike herself, of course. 
Rekala is a former student of the Darzan University, who specialized in divination, detection magic, and its relationship to chaos magic. She originally built her tower using resources from the University as a tower for measuring atmospheric changes caused by Ederstone - but has taken the tower with her in her separation from the University.
Rekala continues her atmospheric research, while also doing the odd magical favor for surrounding villages. She spends her days attended by her apprentices, a handful of local villagers kept in awe of her power. Her reliance on her apprentice's labor, combined with her failure to actually teach them, led to her losing most of her apprentices. Recently, she has been attended on only by Arzet Devadov - who proved to have such natural talent that she actually did teach him wizardry. 
Rekala helped Arzet enter the Darzan University and continues to help Adov and other villages as they have fallen under attack by forces of the apocalypse.
