Personal history

Valna was born in Nefka to the royal Enetara clan. The young prince was not always destined to be monarch, but rather began his career looking to be a royal artist. Serving in the cult of Erezgo, then Tonia, then Deraksa, Valna dabbled in writing, painting, sports, and theology- and was fairly good at all of them. It was his love of travel that ultimately dragged him from the priestly track. Joining with trading caravans to tour and sightsee across Desmia, Valna accidentally ended up working as a mercenary abroad as the caravan began working security.
After years studying abroad, Valna had a new military passion and skillset. He became more involved in the war council, more politically active, and more active in family discussions. He went from a spare prince destined for a life of indulgence to a charismatic political agent with some popularity among the lower clans. Annoyed with what he felt was inconsistent policy and poor leadership, Valna began organizing raids and joining expeditions of foreign mercenaries. After years of building, Valna proved to be a competent and popular leader and was elected to the throne in 1958ME.
