What's the food like around here?

Vegetables, it mostly consists of vegetables, though this can depend on where you live.

During the incursion of magic into the world, most animals achieved some form of sentience. Therefore, food is mostly vegan - believe me, no one wants to attack a possibly sentient goat! You will quite quickly find yourself going from predator to prey if you mess with the wrong herd.

Some tribes have managed to cultivate a mutually beneficial arrangement with certain chickens and milk-giving species - food for food and protection being the deal. However, these collaborations are rare and very much local phenomena.

However, few people actually starve or suffer hunger as everyone needs to barter or trade for something and being stingy will only harm you in the long run. That being said, there is no production margin for gluttony. The few that are overly well fed have usually aligned themselves with the Others, and will get their comeuppance soon enough.
