Expurgefactor

An intricate, Rube Goldberg apparatus used to awaken individuals from Sleep magic induced comas. The device operates through a highly calculated and delicately configured sequence of components.   Conceived by the Countess Dormiveglia Goldburg, the expergefactor is a relic of the Sleep Race. One expergefactor is commonly known to be preserved as a display piece, in the Library of the University of Dysania. Drawings of that expergefactor detail:
  • An ornate wooden crank.
  • A single ruby slipper.
  • A steaming genie's lamp heated like a kettle.
  • An ostrich egg.
  • A toad wearing a Wizard hat, implying polymorphism.
  • A glowing crystal shard.
  • A long, enchanted Pegasus feather used to tickle the sleeper's foot, nose, or bottom.
The intensity of its effect is measured in negative Eases.
