Augmented

Often shortened to Aug (plural. Augs), this is an umbrella term to designated all the people who have gone through augmentation, whether genetical, cybernetic or the much more expensive nano-tech enhancement.

Classification

They were at first classified according to the Emergence's wave their augmentation(s) was from: first-wavers for genetically augmented people, second-wavers for the cybernetic and mechanically enhanced while third-wavers designated the nano-technologically enhanced.
The terms have since been replaced by Gene, Cyber or Nano Aug, except for older people who have witness the Emergence by their own eyes and might still use the old ones. The change was notably encouraged by the first generation of children born from Gene Augs, a majority of which manifested a Singularity by the time they were 10 and no health effect from the lack of nintuzine consumption.

Note

There are multiple slurs that are frowned upon whenever uttered by someone who isn't an Aug. Some target all Augs while others target an individual type of Augs.
‘Alter’ is viewed as a mildly insulting term. ‘Mudie’ or ‘Mud(wo)man’ is the most insulting slurs targeting all Augs. It's a deformation of ‘modified human’ that anti-Augs have begun using these past 6 years.
Amongst all the creative slurs used to refer to the different Aug communities, ‘Mutant’ and ‘mutie’ (gene Augs), ‘cyborg’ and ‘borg’ (cyber Augs) as well as ‘Android’ and ‘bot’ (nano Augs) are the most offensive. A Regular human using these word would automatically be considered as an augophobe.
