Session 57-58
Immediately a magically enhanced compulsion of fear and pain seized Mrk's mind but its affect were only temporary. Endeavoring to harness the power of the void the abominations empowered one another for the titanic clash against the unexpected heroes. However, despite their daemonic rites and blood magic the mages could not stand against the Bravest Braves despite the fact that the heroes had just weathered a vicious battle. Soon all had been dispatched and the hostage rescued, a rock gnome named Calinth Narogblom. He had been journeying to meet distant kin only to learn they had all been turned into Belcorra's undead thralls. Directing him along the path back to Odaro and safety our heroes took a moment to prepare themselves before proceeding to the final chamber.
The battle against Khurfell their chieftain, was swift and steeped in carnage. His advisors endeavoring to channel the power of harm into his unholy form sustaining him even as his blade left destruction in his wake. A tactical gambit helped the Bravest Brave seize victory during the gruesome battle. Mrk and Lans dived into the backlines dispatching the casters even as the rest faced off against Khurfell. His blades cutting into Arturo, Baloo, Zips, and Koko. Weathering the blade as best they could they whittled Khurfel down piece by piece. In the end it was a wounded Koko rising from the depths of unconsciousness who sent Khurfel to oblivion. The abominations had been exterminated and the heroes had claimed their prize: Khurfel's Emerald Lens.
With all the Lenses now in their possession the heroes returned to the Vault room to face off against the golems once more. They were no less formidable than before but a much more manageable threat now that the Dread Knight was no more. The Bravest Braves uncovered many treasures not the least of which being a device called the Fulcrum Lattice and one more journal, this one much more recently penned by Belcorra's own spectral hands....but upon exiting the ghost of the abominable sorceress showed herself once more, furious at the Bravest Braves for this latest intrusion. In a rush Arturo moved to shut the door even as her voice echoing throughout the chamber channeling unknown and fel magics. With doom lurking just beyond the threshold what will the Bravest Braves choose next?
