The next day our heroes the Bravest Braves set out in search of the next Lens resolved to layer their magic and enchantments around the familiar Kozmo in an effort for him to steal the lens undetected, should they be able to pinpoint its location. Their knowledge and Garland's divination magic allowed them to scare the caves and tunnels surrounding the area where they last encountered the Froghemoth, adept spellcasting and maneuvering allowing the magical sensor to escape detection even when moving it through the water's of the Froghemoth's domain. The senser was sucked into an undertow and funneled to the cave's below where Garland was able to catch a brief glimpse of glowing green before the fragile magical construct was shattered.
The team took the intel and proceeded to the floor below finding an area that seemed to match what Garland had seen. The Bravest Braves seem to split their efforts....Kozmo getting as close as possible to an island of glowing green crystals and a strange bird that nested their....seemingly over a source of powerful ocher magic. Lans fishing and successfully catching the attention of a surprisingly powerful fishj. And Garland letting loose a demoralizing shout to cause a distraction for the strange bird.
The bird began to let out a brain numbing warbling song, that scrambled the Bravest Braves wits forcing them to turn upon each other in confusion. Even Baloo was affected the fearsome beast wielding his claws against his friends. Mesmerized Drow seemingly under the thrall of the bird began to open fire upon the heroes and they struggled to contend with multiple threats and the birds mind warping chirps. The fish was the first to be dealt with by the Bravest Braves on the shore, as they took advantage of the fact it had already been bound by Lan's fishing skills. Next Kozmo seized his opportunity swiping the Lens and making a run for it. Finally they began to deal with the bird proper as it menacingly advanced upon the party. Somehow sensing the theft though the avian monster seek to chase down Kozmo and recover the Lens only to barely miss the scrappy familiar and be brought down by the blades and spells of the heroes.
During his escape Kozmo noticed a strange resonance from the Ochre lens as they had drawn near an area nearby the island. A stone structure bearing similar construction to Gauntlight proper bearing the Shori word for "Restricted" and bearing the Haurvex House crest. Curious about the implications of this, they decided to enter slowly climbing across cave walls and rocks, taking some time to set up an elaborate contraption to open the heavy vault-like door at a distance while they hid within the cloaked area of Koko's invisibility field. An explosion was triggered destroying the components and seeming to awaken two golems one carved into the likeness of a soldier the other in the screaming likeness of Belcorra....and commanding both of them an undead knight in unholy plate armor bearing the crest of house Haurvex.
The knight slowly approached, striding past the two alert but immobile golems with a sneer and cast his magic out into empty are, sending a wave of bone chilling cold to wash over any hiding intruders. After that the battle quickly escalated with the constructs brimming with unholy energy sought to kill and imprint the Bravest Braves with their accursed energy, but their power was overwhelmed by the healing magics employed by the Bravest Braves. Eventually drawing the Knight away from the entrance and outside the area where he could be supported by his Golem soldiers. A devastating spellstrike staggered him as the battle headed toward its next and possibly final phase.
