Session 46 in Gyea | World Anvil

Session 46

After returning victorious with the requested Chuul eggs as well as arms and coins taken from the bones of long dead adventurers, the Bravest Braves sought another audience with Dulac. As they turned to leave they noticed a few shambling shapes across the fetid underground lake and a large mass of bones that seemed to be more animate than normal.
Dulac, a person who called herself the Custodian of Calligni seemed respectfully appreciative with their efforts and sent word through her strange spirit to inform the rest of your newly forged alliance. The crew decided to take a night to rest, Mrk pondering on the nature of his reaction to aberrations and whether it was a force that could somehow be harnessed but mostly kept his musings and experimentation to himself for now. Upon awakening they decided to head towards a cave that Dulac had indicated was a place of power and sacred to them as a people. On the pathway there the heroes once again encountered strange swampy pools set into stone and upon investigating them they were once again assaulted by whispy aberrant specters.
These Dread Wisps seemed stronger than previously encountered especially after incorrectly remembered knowledge caused our heroes to use the wrong spell to deactivate their magic immunity. As fearsome as a challenge as this trio of monochromatic skulls proved to be the tides turned when their severe weakness to the forces of positivity and vitality was discovered. Utilizing both the power of healing magic and alchemically distilled light essence they were able to wither the creatures away with blast after blast of disrupting light. In the wake of the battle after their keening cries and hideous echoing laughter was silenced the Ghost of Belcorra appeared once more, taunting the Bravest Braves before diving into combat herself.
Supernaturally swift spells spilled from her mouth with ease along side taunts, threats, and dire promises. She weathered both attacks and powerful spells, wounded but supremely confident in her undead immortality, citing the destruction of her form as a temporary inconvenience at worst. As a demonstration of her power she leveled a deadly curse upon Koko, the cruel spell Feeblemind. Kconstant of his own flesh clouding his thoughts preventing concentration. As suddenly as she came Belcorra vanished, phasing through the floor of her domain and leaving our heroes in stunned silence once more.
True to their name though the Bravest Braves were not to be daunted though. Patching themself up as best they could and dusting themselves off they approached the caves, when a band of bog mummies lifted themself out of the spilled offal and muck that littered the shoreline. Preparing for another fight, the Bravest Braves faced off against the risen dead.
