Session 45

The Bravest Braves backed down the other end of the hallway and came across a large group of pale warriors gathered in silent meditation. Upon trying to communicate they were met with a chilly response but no outright hostilities. They were directed to speak with Dulac the apparent leader of these people that were recognized as Calignis, a nomadic people that long ago left the Longshadow to journey through Subterra. They discovered more Calignis who were more hostile but quickly placated with alcohol and an imprisoned creature that seemed similar to the gladiator Vischari. This one seemed a lot more violent and less reasonable than the bar owner and the Bravest Braves soon abandon trying to reason with it. Eventually they do discover Dulac who seemed to be working in concert with some kind of floating skeletal creature. The Bravest Braves exercising tact and diplomacy were able to negotiate an alliance with the Calignis. A place to rest and recover and safe passage amongst the Caligni tribe in exchange for gathering Chuul Eggs to replenish their dwindling food stores. They learned that the Calignis were a spiritual people drawn to a place of power here, a cave that whispers truths were a violent prophet named Urthagal dwells. She referred to the caves as a "place of power". Taking a moment to recover the Bravest Braves headed back to the dock to face off against the Chuuls and harvest some eggs. The battle would turn dire as the grasping claws of the Chuuls were able to grab several members of the Bravest Braves and relentlessly apply pressure but soon thanks to clever spellwork, alchemical concoctions, and a lot of healing they were able to slay and drive off all the Chuuls and lay claim to their prize.
