As the Battle with the aquatic devil raged, Koko returned to the party in a burst of flames. The psychic Pengu arriving just in time to aid his allies against the fearsome foe as its gravity manipulation powers held Lans glued to the earth unable to assist. Working together the members of the party who were still able to move, swiftly put it down with overwhelming force before it could inflict lethal damage upon any of the Braves. As it's corpse disintegrated they claimed another piece of Urevian's pendant from the remains. Our heroes spent a little time to have Koko scout out the bottom of the lake now devoid of large predators. He was able to locate likely places for demolition charges and discover some valuable silver ore from the lake bed before the Bravest Braves decided to return to Odaro to rest and resupply.
While back on the surface they did a number of things including craft depth charges to further fracture the lake and flood the Erinyes molten ritual room and Mrk was able to discover the deed for the Blades for Glades smithy and register himself as its legal owner. Arturo set Baloo to guard the town ...or scare away newcomers possibly? Koko discussed his audience with the Ruby Sorceress who had talked to him about returning to Terran waters for the first time in eons. She had proposed having him and the rest of the Bravest Braves participate in a tournament, the winners of which would have the priveledge of selecting for themselves a prize from her famed vault. Once the Bravest Braves were ready to return to Gauntlight they left with full haste, Arturo taking Shere Khan along with him this time. The demolition of the lake bed was performed with expert precision, completely ruining the chamber below. At this the Bravest Braves felt that they had successfully shown their prowess to Urevian and demanded another audience. An audience he decided to grant. Garland utilizing every ounce of his cunning and guile was able to successfully negotiate a pact with Urevian guaranteeing not only backrent and Urevian's immediate departure from Gauntlight, but also the ongoing banishment of him and his devils from Odaro. There was a price to pay however, in addition to the haplessly irredeemable Caymen's soul they also had to allow Szek to stay behind, and one of the Braves (which ended up being Garland) had to agree to one additional contract. He chose one designed and inspired by the Ice Devils of Cocytus. This contract granted Garland resistance to the bitter cold that would chill most mortals to the bone, but in exchange his flesh became unnaturally cool to the touch freezing any liquid he came into contact with or carried on his person (besides high quality booze). With the deal struck Urevian's Infernal forces vanished in a satisfied puff of fire and brimstone, and with him vanished the wall of force impeding their progress further underground.
