Session 29-30 in Gyea | World Anvil

Session 29-30

After resting and recuperating Arturo informed the rest of the Bravest Braves about the dreams he had been having. Strange dreams of an unnatural beast stalking the town looking to possess or consume Odaro's unwary inhabitants. He also shared that he had been consulting the sole remaining Druid Worliwynn and Wrin who had together devised a ritual to allow the Bravest Braves to enter into the Ethereal plane for a span of time and hunt down the creature and that in the meantime they would take measures to limit it's influence and protect the town. The Bravest Braves however were not ones too let this twisted remnant of lycanthropy ...somehow preserved by the influence of Gauntlight....to continue to pose a threat. Drinking a strange brew that brought them into a trance like state they entered into the Ethereal plane where their forms proved....different than they had expected especially those of Zips and Lans. It did not take the heroes long to spot the Phantom Beast and the hunt was off to a frenzied start. The ethereal terrain of Odaro and the land itself seeming to spur the heroes forward even as it slowed and hampered their quarry. With more than a little luck and clever utilization of all the skills they could bring to bear the heroes managed to corner the beast. The beast turned to do battle bringing to bear the forms of 3 casebearers who had died still under the sway of murderous lycanthropy. Employing clever tactics our heroes were able to lock the beast's movement down without destroying it and it's anchoring cursed souls completely and Arturo was able to cleanse the negative influence once and for all. The heroes returned for a well deserved rest before they turned their attentions once more to the menacing Lighthouse, Gauntlight. Pausing only briefly to delve a little more deeply into the walking/talking mystery that was Mrk and "Ralph".
The next day would start with Dr. Zips treating the symptoms of Lans' otherworldly tetanus and Koko having a meeting with Wrin where she revealed a card that apparently represented his destiny. Her reading was enigmatic as always but a certain ring of truth could not be denied during portions of her speech. With much to think about the Bravest Braves re-entered the ill-fated tower once more. Their exploration led them to a chamber seemingly once meant for gladiators and a glowing runic circle. Defeating the amalgamation skeletal guardian that protected it they continued their investigation discovering new routes through the dungeon and a barricaded room. Their they discovered a mumified spellcaster who offered to parlay with them for information, mentioning the name Jarfaki. Unwilling to deal with undead even those that had offered to surrender they slew him in that chamber despite his best spells and defenses thanks to their reliable blades and clever tactics. They were able to claim their prize, notes that pieced together the last pieces of the puzzle for Dr. Zips regarding Chimera. Eager to analyze the notes and to obtain a rest the Bravest Braves decided to retire to Odaro for one more rest before proceeding to the next leg of their adventure.
