Session 23-25 in Gyea | World Anvil

Session 23-25

The Bravest Braves dispatched the guardians of the strange alter even as Lans was bombarded by echoes of emotion seemingly concentrated in this chamber. A feeling strangely familiar but also colored by tragedy. An attunement perhaps strengthened by a distant bond to one of the original members of Rose Thorne. The last major threat vanquished they headed back to the surface.
As soon as Odaro's remains left the confines of Gauntlight his spirit began to glow. Temporarily a conduit for the power of Hugh Mann a booming voice spoke to the Bravest Braves. Instructing them to gather the icons of Rose Thorne to pierce Belcorra's barrier blocking the deeper reaches of Gauntlight. Aethena's Sphere, (which had somehow became to be known as the Perfect Pebble), Zarmavidan's Spellbook "The Threshhold of Truth", Odaro's Lockpicks, and Rajana's sword the Cooperative Blade. Dr. Zips learned that Hugh had used the curse to maneuver him into saving the lost soul and was finally free of it, reveling in the god's newfound blessing. The Bravest Braves with all the immediate threats vanquished briefly separated to handle business and gather the needed relics.
Garland and Lans visited the home of the Hyral noble family and their consulted with the most prominent members. After exchanging crucial info they were able to return with the Threshhold of Truth. Arturo was able to do a special rite to consecrate the stone circle and displaced the old order of druids who had done a less than stellar job of protecting the town. Imiq retrieved the Perfect Pebble from the elders of his family back home on Bristlechill and beseeched Dr. Zips aid to help his brother Koko who seemed to have developed a strange affliction after seeing a strange light on the horizon. Mrk kept himself busy with crafting and daily check ins at Dawnflower library to see if he could use the cooperative blade but was told it was being kept in storage until the Mayoral inauguration.
During this time period they learned of multiple people seeing strange lights late at night, usually heralding the manifestation of strange powers, bizzare beasts, and the living dead. It seems a new wave of heroes were making themselves known in combating these and other threats the most notable (besides the Bravest Braves) being Tino's Toughest, Winter's Roar, and the Speakers to the Winds. When the Bravest Braves fully assembled once more they had all the icons except for the Cooperative Blade.
The blade should have been simple to retrieve....however they learned that Rajana's descendent (and Mrk's friend) had stolen the blame. Claiming it was his families heirloom and he was the rightful owner. The Bravest Braves rather than fight him engaged in some creative interpretation of the law to try and clear his legal woes in exchange for the use of his sword. After that and with the barrier finally broken they entered further into Gauntlight than they ever had before. Going forward they encountered a giant spiral stairwell descending deep into the earth. Dispatching some abberations clustered around the entrance they began their exploration of this new floor in earnest not knowing what to expect besides a generous portion of danger lurking around every corner.
