Session 19

Retracing their steps our undaunted heroes the Bravest Braves faced off against the ghost of Chandiru and her enthralled ghoul scribes. Through carefully selected and passionately delivered words the adventurers were able to severe her attachment to the man she loved, Volluk Ariznae, before striking down her undead form. Checking the wall Garland and Lans had previously saw her float through they were able to discover a secret chamber.
In addition to rare books they were also able to get a copy of the infernal contract that bound Korlock. A careful read through allowed them to return the fiend back to the lower planes without the need for any combat. In exchange he provided Garland with a token of his favor, a pitch black spike of infernal metal and the promise that this would allow some measure of protection and consideration from his boss...a devil named Urevian. After his departure (and that of two invisible imps that had also been under his command) our heroes took the opportunity to harvest the delicious and valuable mushrooms that flourished in the forgotten larder.
The Bravest Braves decided to rest and resupply...stopping into town briefly before returning to Gauntlight. On the way down they encountered Augrael before having gleefully hunted down and consumed the invisible imp who had fled before. It was not long before they made their way to the tunnel where Arturo had first caught the sent of the lycanthrope. This time they followed the path and descended even further below. Eventually they came upon a platform extending above a water near a beach that softly glowed with necromantic energy and the illumination of unearthly fungi. Camping on it was the werewolf Jaul a grizzled man in ragged furs, and two wolf companions. He growled a message, seldom used vocal rasping out a warning to stay away. Heedless, the Bravest Braves attacked.
Mrk was the firs to leap into the fray sending his mechanisms into overdrive as he leaped above the water directly onto the platform, but Jaul and his pack were strong foes, the hunted man let his curse flow through him and utilizing brutal instinctual coordination he and his pack cornered the automaton. Mauling him with tooth and claw.
Arturo provided crucial healing while the team repositioned quickened by Garland's potent magic. Imiq dived into the water without a second thought bursting forth in a spray of water landing in combat stance upon the raised platform joining the automaton in the melee and attempting to knock off one of the wolves. Things looked dire but the Bravest Braves had faced dire odds before....
