Session 10
The battle against the Shadow creature, the Skeletal Champion, and the Bravest Braves raged on. Arturo was once more brought down by the malevolent shades strikes as the creature sough to tear the druid's shadow from his flesh. Lans charged to the front fireman carrying Arturo to safety while the team took down the Skeletal champion with coordinated attacks. At last only the Shadow was left standing.
Mrk and Imiq used strategic placement to catch the foe between them weakening him under a steady onslaught of blows. In the end it was a powerful arcane barrage that laid the creature low. Proceeding forward through the crypt they encountered a room with the giant curled corpse of a massive purple worm and a beam of ghostly necrotic energy that writhed as it stretched from the center of the floor to the center of the ceiling. Thinking better of lingering too long near this apparent nexus of evil energy they elected to return back to the hallway. After a little more exploring they discovered a hallway filled with Morlocks who had apparently scavenged and engineered a makeshift set of crossbow like weapons.
The battle was fierce with Baloo the bear taking several massive hits but flanking from both sides the Bravest Braves was able to wittle down their numbers with the explosive force of Mrk, burning spells of Arturo, Lans blinding light, Garland's electric wrath, Imiq's disciplined fury, and Zip's elixers and magics keeping all our heroes ready for battle. The last one to live Imiq successfully grappled and subdued, Garland was able to question it learning of a route to an unexplored floor down below as well as the existence of some form of cult. When the Morlock had outlived his usefulness Garland signaled to Arturo and Baloo that they could take their revenge.
Resting for a while to heal and recuperate they noticed strange noises echoing up from a well as well as a barricaded door. Tearing the barricade down they discovered three starving men drassed in rags and all bearing the osprey tattoo on their right shoulder. After a brief bit of questioning and determining they might be drug smugglers who got ambushed by the Morlocks our heroes decided to lock them up somewhere safe now until they decided their ultimate fate.
As they returned back to the hallway they explore a secret door that Arturo's keen eyes had picked out, they discovered the ruined vestiges of a meeting room as well as stairs leading upwards. Our heroes decided to take a brief moment and consider what the next step in their adventure should be.
