Belcorra's Journal
A journal penned by Belcorra Haurvex. It describes how according to the history passed down to her, that their family had played a minor supporting role during the 2nd coming of the Black King. Exchanging their assistance in crafting wards and protective glyphs for magical knowledge on long lost rituals aimed at enhancing the unique and unusual power of their aberrant bloodline. These hideous and bloody rituals did bear fruit in the form of Belcorra. Poised to be a future matriarch with a sorcerous potential never before seen in the Haurvex family.
After his apparent defeat by Stormfall the Conclave began a hunt for the traitorous houses that had allied themselves with the Black King as well as mandating a registry to record the sources of sorcerous bloodlines so no baleful influence could grow unchecked ever again. She writes on how some families turned on one another, during these times. Some eager to prove their innocence (or at least silence those that could prove their guilt) others taking this as an opportunity to ruin rivals and enhance their own position. Through no small amount of bribery, forgery, and corrupt favors being traded almost every family was able to claim a sorcerous origin other than demonic, diabolic, or aberrant. The current (non-evil) King of Limberry was unable to deny the undead influence in his bloodline but assuaged fears by marrying the daughter of House Hayes (possessors of a Psychopomp bloodline and with strong ties to the church of Sylas the God of Death and eternal enemy of undeath).
Belcorra's family while sparred the execution that awaited the traitors who had fought directly on the Black Kings behalf, were still made an example of. They were stripped of their titles and any claims to their wealth or property and banished. Without any resources or allies most perished but Belcorra lived on her power growing ever stronger until one day she began to hear the whisper of Nhimbaloth. Guiding her, teaching her, declaring her to be their chosen. Eventually leading her to the (a Shori word appears her that can be translated as Quarantine Chamber or Abomination Vault) that housed the shrine to Nhimbaloth. After she had overcome the protections and sufficiently profaned the site, Nhimbaloth rewarded her subject. Granting her the knowledge and power to gain her revenge on the Limberry that had turned its back on her family and caused their fall from grace. She used this power to raise Gauntlight and recruit a supernatural army capable of taking all of Limberry as her domain.
The last passages talk of excitedly biding her time so that the lenses could be completed and the invasion could begin.
