Founding of the Earth-Mars Federation

Founding

The Treaty of Luna binds the nations of Earth and the new goverment of Mars into a Federation under the united leadership of two Presidents and a common High Senate. Both planets retain their local goverments and laws, but agree to create common Federal-law in the coming years to flesh out the already agreed upon new Constitution. A great deal of contention is had around what to do with the armed forces of the new Federation and it eventually decided on forming a new, common Federation Navy from all space-based military units, but that all Federation members were alowed to retain their ground forces.
