Silvestri

A continent filled with everything from volcanic coastlines to vast plains, Silvestri has a long and complicated history. Here began the Roani Cexi and Nargoli races. Here stand several countries, two of them some of he largest countries in the world. Here, there are still hundreds of undiscovered species awaiting discovery by people with written languages.

Geography

A vast range of rolling mountains girds the northern and western coast. The south-western coastline turns from huge and silent monoliths to constantly boiling and smoky volcanoes. The ash brings up plenty of minerals for the tropical forest at its eastern side. The northeastern portion is largely arid land, either barren desert, scrub brush or salt marshes. A forest rests between that and the western mountain ridge. The south most point turns to a vast temperate forest, teaming with life.

Fauna & Flora

Silvestri is a continent that only recently became settled by races with written languages. Many of the peoples that live here now are still discovering more species of plants and animals to study. A large selection of big cats, deer-like species, crocodiles and apes live here. Turtles large and small also roam this continent along with many species of bird and flying reptiles such as dragons and wyverns. Plenty of poisonous creatures and plants live here as well.

Natural Resources

Silvestri is mineral-rich and teaming with venomous and toxic species. Large mammals and reptiles for hides and ivory. Oil reservoirs flow through much of the continent. There is plenty good hunting as well.

History

Silvestri is home to a number of nomadic peoples and subsurface tribes. The Nargoli people lived in the western mountains for eons. Only when ambitious Sabbish explorers attempted to enslave them did the Nargoli unite into one kingdom to overthrow the outsiders. The Roani, otherwise known as lionhides, are centaur-like creatures with the body of a lion in place of a horse. The Cexi are little sentient lizard folk, like kobolds or troglodytes, but a bit more civil and willing to trade and protect with other races.

Tourism

Silvestri hosts a long history of colonization, exploration and conflict that spans back eons and leads up to present day.
