Magical architect

The energy which runs the world allows those who can tap into it to manipulate the world around them. Magical architects not only use magic to enhance or reinforce buildings, but also create networks or energy conduits that increase efficiency. If asked to, magical architects could make buildings that would not be possible under ordinary circumstances. For example, they would be able to build an entire hospital in a matter of days by using the stone to mud spell.

Career

Qualifications

Must be familiar with true magic, wizard level 5 or higher. Must be a qualified architect with a degree in engineering in modern times. Must be able to manipulate magical fields and lines without overloading their own physiology or their focuses. Must be artiicers of at least some degree.

Career Progression

Magical architects start as construction foremen, inspecting the already existing project and examining any flaws that could lead to problems if exposed to too much magic. They move up in the construction company as usual, but once they becomean architect, they are often hired on by other architects for their magical expertise.

Payment & Reimbursement

Magical architects are rare. They must be paid at least twice the rate of a normal architect. However, if a magical architect practices fraudulently, they may be blacklisted from future projects within an entire region up to a continent.

Other Benefits

With twice the rate as the average architect, MA's can take on less work to keep up their lifestyles. However, their reputations matter more due to their rarity and notoriety in the industry.

Perception

Purpose

Magical architects provide vital tools for large projects such as stone to mud spells, mold earth and other spells that move or manipulate large amounts of material. They may even cast entangling runes on the borders of construction sites to reduce trespassing and vandalism. They also have the astute observation skills to tell whether or not a structure will be affected by magic and how. They provide vital feedback to construction projects in magic-laden regions.

Social Status

Magical architects are prized among their local construction network. They may be hired out like mercenaries to tackle jobs in other regions. They are most often in the upper-crust of mundane society, upper-middle class in modern terms.

Most magical architects are Endrugalim, fey, or human.Few other races are so magically attuned or educated.

History

Magical architects first emerged as members of the Corthalian Mage Corpse. Endrugalim of Corthalia were the first to learn of true magic among mortals, and they loved to flaunt these skills. The profession spread wider as the Corthalian empire expanded and more cultures were introduced to the concept.
