Jekwasol

Jekwasol (meaning masked friends in the Teuwa language) a secret society of the Teuwa ethnic group that stretches from West, Central and Southeastern Exum. The Jekwasol society consist of initiated members of Teuwa people, forming a cosmology or indigenous religion of the people. Initiations are seperate from men and women, with different knowledge passed on and different ritual roles in the society according to gender and seniority. The Jekwasol are said to operate at a village level, but are part of a wide network across the the Central and Southwestern regions. While seen by the Imperial Train as enemies of the Empire, the Pillars of their respective region often allow them to operate in their local fashions and allow the people to have their celebrations. As of late, increasing influence from the empire has moved a majority of the Teuewa people to the religion of the Orishas.

The Jekwasol have a belief that is different than those of us Exumites that worship the Orishas. They more or less, worship their believed shared blood with the Knocsi. And see their dance as the "Great Prayer." Giving them free reign to do anything and claim the they didn't do it and that it was all the spirits. Strange how the Pillars get away with it.
