In the aristocratic heights of the Dust Quarter, where most estates cling to the decaying traditions of the Shadowfell, Treyvan Palace stands as a beacon of stubborn optimism and dwarven ingenuity. Home to House Treyvan, this family has built its reputation on "New World" mercantile philosophies, often clashing with the more stagnant, tradition-bound houses like Harskel or Carradh.
Treyvan Palace is a marvel of imported engineering. While its neighbors are built of shifting obsidian or rotting marble, the Palace is constructed from polished grey granite and reinforced brass.
Dwarven "Progressivism" manifests here in the use of light. Unlike the dim, flickering gloom of most mansions, the Palace features large, double-paned windows made of reinforced crystal. Throughout the halls, braziers fueled by alchemical "Ever-Flame" provide a warmth and brightness that is almost unheard of in Gloomwrought.
The basement levels of the palace are not dungeons, but active workshops. The rhythmic thrum of machinery can be felt through the floorboards, as the Treyvans use geothermal energy tapped from the city's depths to power experimental looms and smithies. Defying the Shadowfell's lifelessness, the central courtyard contains tiers of bioluminescent mosses and imported mountain flora, maintained by a complex irrigation system.
