Tea Street Transit Dispatch Office

Tea Street Transit Dispatch Office

Situated centrally within the orderly bureaucracy of The Clerk’s Ward, on the quaint, cobblestone intersection where Tea Street meets the bustling Avenue of Scribes, stands the Tea Street Transit Dispatch Office. It is one of Sigil’s most reliable and recognized transportation hubs. While lower-class travelers dodge pickpockets in The Hive or risk the volatile Lower Ward, those seeking safe, punctual, and respectable transport through the Cage come here.

The office manages a fleet of customized "Logistics Cabs"—enclosed, cushioned carriages designed for comfort and discretion, all pulled by a stable of incredibly sturdy, mild-mannered Arcadian Ponies. These ponies, distinguished by their soft, shimmering white coats and eyes that hold a calm, amber light, possess an innate resistance to fear and are exceptionally sure-footed on Sigil's slick streets.

Architecture

The building represents a perfect synergy of Gnomish ingenuity, academic order, and the heavy timber construction common in the Clerk’s Ward. A charming, narrow three-story manor constructed from imported pale grey Mechanus sandstone and accented with polished dark oak timbers. The facade features multiple levels of mullioned windows framed in a deep forest green, filtering the unique, ambient light of the ward into a soft, warm glow.

Services

The Tea Street Transit Dispatch Office operates as a high-efficiency transport service, focused on precision and minimizing disruption.

  • The Standard Route: Cabs are dispatched for fixed-rate travel to any location within the Lady’s, Clerk’s, Lower, Market, and Guildhall Wards. These routes are prioritized for safety and often utilize known, stable portals.

  • The High-Stakes Hire: For an extravagant fee, they offer "Expedited Delivery"—prioritizing a single client, utilizing volatile short-cuts, and employing a specific driver who understands "Ethical Logistics."

  • The Hive Prohibition: The office will not dispatch cabs to The Hive Ward. A large, prominently displayed notice (written in Celestial, Modron, and Cant) lists "Severe Sympathetic Interference" and "Volatile Faction Instability" as the official reasons, though most understand it is because the Arcadian ponies become visibly distressed by the Hive's despair and chaos, refusing to move.
