Escort Guildhall

In the heart of the Guildhall Ward, where the architecture usually screams "look how much gold I have," the Escout Guild Hall is a refreshing—if slightly chaotic—change of pace. It serves as the central hub for Sigil’s most reliable (and occasionally most desperate) freelance couriers, scouts, and planar pathfinders.

The building is a sprawling, three-story complex made of reinforced timber and weathered sandstone. Unlike the pristine towers nearby, the Guild Hall is draped in practical accessories: rope ladders hang from balconies for quick exits, and the roof is a jagged forest of perches for messenger imps, giant owls, and clockwork birds.

Interior Atmosphere

The central foyer is dominated by a massive, 3D illusory map of Sigil that rotates slowly. It’s covered in glowing pins marking active "Dead Zones," "Portal Fluctuations," and "Avoid at All Costs" neighborhoods. The Mudroom is a massive chamber where scouts returning from the Lower Planes or the Beastlands can scrub off abyssal sludge or celestial glitter before entering the main hall.

The walls are lined with specialized equipment for rent: collapsible poles, "anti-ooze" boots, and jars of "Planar Air" for those heading to the Elemental Planes. Carved over the hearth in the common room is the guild's unofficial creed: "If it's there, we'll find it. If it's moving, we'll catch it. If it's closed, we'll find the back door."
