So you wanna be a mage?

A letter from Headmaster Maervour:
Greetings and welcome, or my apologies,
It would seem the balance of the multiverse requires another arcane welder, or at least someone who fancies themselves a potential one. And to this I both congratulate and pity you. But why both? Any attempt to command the very powers employed by gods and demons to fashion or dismantle worlds is fraught with peril and suffering. And then, as with any marshalling of force, should you succeed; this world, other worlds, and even other th of existence are at your doorstep. I wish you well on your journey and that your family has a sibling at home wise enough to remain a simple tradesman so that your parent's lineage may continue.
If you are still reading this note, then I imagine you foolish enough to persist on a path that this academy may facilitate. Therefore and to that end, I will attempt to familiarize you will your options. Choose wisely, but even if not, you must choose.
The arcana arts is an attempt by mortal minds to grasp, in vein, at the limitless energies and powers of reality. In this attempt we have categories, or 'schools as it were', as we are fond of grouping and naming things, under which this university is organized. You will have requirements to study the foundations of each, then as your interesting and aptitude develops, choose a path of study.
The University of Magic Arts is comprised on departments and colleges. There is a college (and master) associated with each school of magic. The following lists each of the departments and colleges, who heads the division and a brief description.
