Ipp Trees

Ipp trees are among the largest known. They average 60 feet or more in height and have thick trunks. The ipt, a species of ipp, is larger still, and is a favorite of Sylvan Elves. Ipps have greenish bark and large, hand-shaped leaves of emerald green. These trees will live for centuries and are seldom attacked by insects or disease.

The Ipp is a species of tree native to the Flanaess, averaging 60 feet or more in height. A subspecies, the ipt, is taller still. Ipps live for centuries and are seldom attacked by illness or disease. They have greenish bark and hand-shaped leaves. Ipp candles are made from a mixture of tallow and Ipp tree sap. They illuminate truly little, even less than a normal candle. They are known, however, for keeping normal insects and pests away. 

These trees are among the largest known, averaging 60 or more feet in height when mature, with broad trunks. The ipt, a sub species, is larger still. Both species have greenish bark and large, vaguely hand-shaped leaves of emerald green. Ipps are hardy, disease-resistant, and long-lived. The wood is versatile, although it does not take seasoning well and is rarely em ployed in making weapons.
