Background:
Uxizor, known as the Sludge Tyrant, once ruled the Children of the Suffocating Ooze from his hidden lair, the Guttershade Grotto, a festering sinkhole nestled in the filth of Garbage Hill, Greyhawk’s largest refuse dump. A cunning and sadistic black dragon, Uxizor’s influence extended far beyond his lair—his whispered promises of vengeance and power drew disillusioned and angry young men from Greyhawk’s slums into his cult, where they learned the ways of acidic dissolution and servitude to Bwimb II, the Princess of Ooze.
Uxizor’s vision was simple: to dissolve the corrupt elite of Greyhawk in a tide of putrescence. His cult thrived in the darkness, sabotaging sewers, poisoning wells, and sending blighted waves of ooze and filth against the city’s richer quarters. He painted himself as a liberator, offering power to those society discarded, twisting their anger into fanatical zeal.
Recently, however, disaster struck—a band of adventurers stormed Guttershade Grotto and slaughtered the cultists. Though Uxizor escaped, his power has been shattered. His enemies believe he fled to Emberhold Fortress, the ashen bastion of Scoria, the Lord of Ash, a fire-wielding tyrant known for his own apocalyptic ambitions. The idea of a black dragon and a fire-obsessed despot forging an alliance is a chilling prospect for Greyhawk.
Personality & Tactics:
Uxizor is not a brute; he is a schemer, a deceiver, and a corrupter. Unlike many black dragons who dominate through fear alone, he wields charm as effectively as his acidic breath. His greatest strength was always his ability to twist the desperate into fanatics—if given time, he will rebuild his following.
Now in exile, Uxizor is more dangerous than ever. Enraged by his loss, he is likely plotting vengeance upon the adventurers who ruined him. He may send remnants of his cult, hire assassins, or even manipulate rival factions into clashing with his foes.
If confronted directly, Uxizor will use hit-and-run tactics, striking from the shadows, melting foes with his corrosive breath, and fleeing before he can be overwhelmed. He knows he cannot take the city of Greyhawk in open battle—so he will rot it from within, one secret sabotage at a time.
