Fruit of the Mill

A beloved workers' haven, Fruit of the Mill is a charming bakery and alehouse that serves up warm, hearty fare from dawn until an hour after dark.

Whether seeking a quick bite, a sweet treat, or a strong drink, laborers from across the city flock here for its unbeatable combination of affordability and quality.

The shop’s proprietor, Karin Keoffel, is a petite but fiercely independent woman, renowned for her ingenuity in the kitchen. She has personally crafted most of the shop’s recipes, which include:

  • Savory cheese and tomato pastries.
  • Meat-filled rolls, packed with tender beef or lamb.
  • A vast array of fruit pies, ranging from tart berry tarts to rich apple turnovers.

Despite lacking hired muscle, Karin has no need for bouncers or bodyguards. Her regular patrons—dockhands, masons, and mill workers—hold her and her staff in high regard. Any customer foolish enough to harass the barmaids will quickly find themselves on the receiving end of sharp rebukes—and if they persist, they will soon be staring down 1d6 + 6 furious laborers, ready to remind them of their manners.
