Estate of Lord Silverfox

The Silverfox Estate is a quintessential noble manor, home to the distinguished Lord Silverfox, the fifth of his line.

His family’s noble title dates back to the legendary Zagig, who granted it in recognition of the family's role in establishing trade routes through the Gnarley Forest .

Following tradition, heirs to the Silverfox name must venture into the unknown, discovering new markets for Greyhawk’s goods while forging new trade routes. These expeditions serve not only to expand commerce but also to ensure that no Silverfox noble grows soft from city life—they must prove their mettle through hardship and self-sufficiency.

The sprawling estate houses the lord and lady, their five children, and eight extended family members with their seven children. Though only Lord and Lady Silverfox hold formal titles, all members of the household are considered nobility.

A clan treasure hoard is hidden beneath the estate in a vault beneath the master bedroom. The entrance, cleverly concealed under the bed, is well-guarded:

  • A sleep gas trap protects the vault’s passage.
  • A poisoned needle trap strikes any who fail to pick the lock.
  • The vault contains 50,000 gp in gems and jewelry, 20,000 gp in gold bars, and 15,000 gp in platinum bars.

The Silverfox Estate employs two dozen servants and features stables as well as a kennel of war hounds, bred for generations. At any time, 1d12+12 of these powerful dogs are present, and they are offered for sale to wealthy collectors or adventurers for 100 gp each. Known for their fierce loyalty and sharp intelligence, these hounds make excellent companions for those who can afford them.
