Samuel "Sammy" Stuhlinger
Samuel Stuhlinger is a conspiracy theorist and runs The Sideways Shack in Green Run. Samuel was an early resident of Green Run, having initially moved to town in 1938 and still lives there. For the early years that Samuel was in Green Run, he worked for The Green Run Gazette as a reporter, usually investigating strange rumors and developing town legends; he even tipped Tony off on a few case leads that did wonders for the paper. However, this obsession with the unknown eventually escalated to full-blown conspiracy theories, and Samuel was unfortunately let go from the Gazette in 1944 due to his increasingly unhinged writing.
During the next few decades, Samuel would become somewhat of a landmark of Green Run, often seen outside city hall spreading his theories about what was really going on in town. For the longest time, if anything remotely mysterious in Green Run happened, you could bet your bottom dollar Samuel would be in front of city hall the next week chanting about how it had everything to do with the oncoming apocalypse.
In mid-1965, Samuel won the lottery, ending a long bout of bad luck with a new hope for the future. Spreading the truth, the real truth. To do that, he created the Sideways Shack alongside his best friend Bill to help educate the masses on the dangers surrounding them. Sammy also spent some of his winnings helping his friends Sammy and Russ with their various problems, allowing the Green Hills Motel to stay open during particularly hard times.
Despite his abrasiveness, Samuel attends town meetings and actively participates in the community. He spends every Friday morning volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen and helping to make the meals, as he doesn't get along with people. In addition to his work on the Sideways Shack, Samuel has tried his best to give back to the community that has given so much to him and regularly donates a good portion of his winnings to local shelters and charities when he can afford to. While volunteering, he met his two best friends, Russ and Bill, who he meets weekly at Johnny's for breakfast.
