Heraldry

Elvish Heraldry

Under the principle of Elvish heraldry the arms of the father are passed down to the heir whether the heir is male or female is irrelevant. If a female has arms and her husband also has arms there are a few option that could happen, the first of which is the first offspring gains the arms of both either impaled (Half the shield has 1 set of arms and the other half has the other set) or quartered (shield split so that the arms are placed in 4 squares at opposed ends), the second is to give the first offspring the fathers arm and the 2nd born the mother's while all other offspring would have a impaled or quartered arms combination or a variation of either parents arms.
While the father is still alive his heir may use his arms but defaced with an inverted green square crown.Upon the death of the father the defacing may be removed to assume the propper arms.
In the event the mother does not have arms of her own all other childrens woud be allowed the same option has the heir of the father but the arms shall be defaced in a different and unique way to that of the main heir.

No 2 person shall use the same arms at any given time.

Drow Heraldry

under the principle of drow heraldry only female carry and are granted arms and as such the mother's arms are the ones who are past down the line, in the very rare event the father as arms of his own they may be passed to the daughters but not the male heir unless the male is not a drow himself in wich case his male heir are also allowed to pass the male arms but not the mother's ones.
