Solar Republic

The Solar Republic is humankind's largest nation, despite possessing only a single star system. That system is Sol, the ancestral home of humanity and the tomb of mother Earth. Spread out across Luna, Mars, the asteroid belt, and the Jovian and Saturnian moons, the Republic is a bastion of liberty or of arrogance depending on who you ask. It uses its staggering economic and military power to enforce democracy across the entirety of human space, convinced that it is the best and only governmental system that can provide lasting stability.

Public Agenda

The Solar Republic is currently focused on maintaining the peace between the various human factions and the Amanth. It does this primarily through military force against any human power that abandons democracy or engages in attacks against the Amanth. It's long-term goal is to terraform Earth back to a livable state and finally return home.

Assets

By far the largest human faction, the Solar Republic has more population than the rest of human space put together, all packed within a single densely developed star system. Thanks to its federation agreement, wherein other star systems can hand over half of their Dark Matter in return for Solarian protection, the Republic possesses a powerful starship fleet, second only to the Amanth Domain.

History

After the destruction of Earth, only a scant few colonies in the solar system were able to achieve self-sufficiency. After space travel was once again achieved, war was inevitable as the cultural differences and placement of blame for Earth tore the system apart. The Interplanetary War of the 230s was ended when Martian battlecruisers smashed the Lunar shipyards. With democracy triumphant across the system, the Solar Republic was finalized, bringing the entirety of Sol under one government in 242 AE.
