The Botanical Gardens

There's a darker side to the fertility of Aphrodite, as treasured as it is. While it feeds thousands, enriches many, and kills a few in the form of the Botanical Gardens. 
The Botanical Gardens are a name for several patches of land with Old World structures at their center across the planet's surface. Coming to about 0.05% of Aphrodite's total surface area, these places might seem like a farm or orchard that someone has been neglecting to take care of for several centuries. 
Plant's grow on every surface, thick vines and roots curling across floors and ceilings both, even going so far as to overlap over other plants. It seems whole cities have been swallowed up by this wild growth, the famed red flowers coating every ancient concrete form. A jungle, nestled away in between idyllic farmland. 
You may have noticed that this doesn't cover why the Botanical Gardens are viewed as dangerous. That's a simple answer.
