Basic Information

Anatomy

Orsenmen are generally at least 6 feet tall, and have greenish skin. They also have lengthened canines and/or eye teeth which can sometimes protrude out from the lips. Ears are slightly larger and tapered backwards rather than round like a "pure" Human's or pointy like an Elf's. Internally, Orsenmen are almost identical to a Human with Gigantism. They have enlarged hearts, livers, and lungs. Orsenmen's bile is stronger than that of baseline Humans allowing them to more easily digest meat and also tolerate rot to a greater degree in their food. Orsenmen are also hormonally different than humans with higher levels of cortisone and adrenaline and generally more active pituitary glands. All this means they respond to stress in very extreme ways, with marked emotional and physical changes. They tend to be more muscular and stocky overall, with even Orcenman women being well muscled and tough-skinned. The latter is because Orcenman women tend to gather fat in the same way as men do, except for the breasts, lacking the thin layer of "baby fat" that human women have under the skin.

Growth Rate & Stages

Orsenmen have a faster metabolism that humans and their rather extreme endocrine systems tend to stress and "burn out" their internal organs. Orsenmen mature sexually around 10 and generally live to around 50, however with a life of modern convenience and proper stress management they can live lifespans similar to baseline Humans.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Orsenmen have a greater capacity for eating rotten meat and are not as grossed out by it as baseline humans do. Most Orsenmen live closely among other humans and generally have the same diet and don't eat rotten things in polite company. Some do prefer the taste, so they will collect expired meat from butchers and eat it in private. Orsenmen who were raised in majority Orsenman comminunities, though, are less aware of their potentially offensive eating habits.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Orsenmen can be found anywhere humans can. They are well suited to menial labor and often subject to discrimination so they are usually relegated to poor areas. Those that do gain wealth are usually craftsmen.
Because of the hard time they often have fitting in with baseline humans, there are many Orsenman-only communities. They are often tucked away in the hills or mountains where they can thrive in private in a hardscrabble environment. Many Orsenman settlements exist in the hills that ring the Great Desert, they allso dwell in the Reach in the north, and the foothills of the Iron Mountains in the south.
The area where Orsenmen are most common, however, is the Gonewald. Many Orsenman settlements are nestled among, or perched atop, the giant trees. Orsenmen are also more common in Gonewald cities, often making up a sizeable percentage of the human population.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Orcenmen have better low light vision and their corneas are slightly reflective, like a cat's. Otherwise, their senses are not much better than a baseline Human's.
