Guild of Farriers and Ostlers
Horses have long been a valued commodity in Granmont, a point of pride for those who can afford thoroughbreds and a vital resource for those who labor. To ensure the health and safety of the city's urban horses, all stables require a license issued by the Guild of Farriers and Ostlers to operate, a copy of which much be displayed inside the stable itself as well as in the office or an attached Inn. To maintain this license the stable must maintain a certain standard of quality of care for horses entrusted to them, and this is enforced via random inspections by the guild. But with little oversight and the guild getting the final say, they often use this power to extort hapless stable-owners out of massive savings, lest their power to earn a living be stripped away.
