The Terrorman Torch

An ethereal torch that glows silver, basking the surrounding 60ft in a soft grey light. It reveals the world inhabited by spirits, a horrific sight to any that see it. Twisted spirits dance around the torch, attempting to grasp it by never able to. Those who had held the torch speak of unimaginable horrors that lurk in the corner of their eye, never able to fully regain their sanity.
It is currently locked away in a Nobleman's vault, one who collects all kinds of occult items. There is only one case of a man who wrote about his experience seeing what the torch revealed. He spoke of grasping tendrils of smoke, beings with no faces that followed him silently, and creatures on the wall that appeared to be chewing human corpses. The man took his life shortly after writing it. Slaves were used to transport the Terrorman Torch into the vault and were killed to prevent information on its whereabouts leaking. Since then, no living human has seen it, and it sits discarded among other cursed occultist items, never to see the light of day, for now...

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The torch is made from an ordinary piece of wood wrapped in old clothing. It appears to be alight with an ethereal silver flame, and basks the surroundings in a 60ft area in a dim grey light. It is considered to be a cursed item that many fear, but it is unknown who created the item and why.

Significance

Reveals the land of the dead, and all of its horrors. Allows those in its vicinity to speak to the dead, but no physical contact can be made. It has no physical effect on beings, but can quickly turn people insane.
Some believe that the item was created to prevent others from interacting with the dead, a warning sign of the horrors beyond the veil that mortals should avoid.
