Josef Sandor was formerly a magician of the Silver Covenant. Unhappy with how the Silver Covenant were conducting their research, Josef joined a group of renegades who broke away and formed the Platinum Covenant.
Josef attempted to stop a group of Vale Lords being sent by Crown Prince Raolin to his father in Porthy at the orders of an unidentified party. Whether Josef and his men were acting as members of the Platinum Covenant or had been bought off by the invading orc horde remains to be seen, but Josef and his men were killed during the attempt to stop the Vale Lords.
