Bay of Anes

The Bay of Anes is on the northeast portion of Marmaroth, to the southeast of the city-state of Anes, and is a calm bay the entrance of which is protected by reefs and islands. The passage into and out of the bay, however, is virtually impassable due to a series of deadly whirpools that lie between the islands and pull any shipping down into the depths or force them onto the reefs. The bay carries the heaviest maritime traffic around Marmaroth, as it is a relatively easy transport route between Anes and Llany. The southeast of the bay ends in sheer, virtually unscaleable cliffs and there are no landing points along that stretch of the bay, preventing any attempts to circumnavigate the dense Llany Woods to the lands beyond.
