The Creation of the Feywild

The Battle of the Feywild's Creation marks a turning point in the history of the gods' struggle to restore stability to a chaotic world. A page from one of many of Hydall's diaries and recollection of thoughts...
"I recall the day we faced Draunara, the embodiment of chaos and malice itself. The world was teetering on the edge of madness, the raw forces of wild magic tearing through the fabric of existence unable to make the world stable. She stood before us—a creature of shifting malice and unfathomable power, her laughter like thunder, shaking the very earth beneath us. The very fabric of the world seemed to bend around this creature, not so much to its will...but more so reality seemed to untether itself from its very fabric.   We fought against this monster...this creature...desperate to contain the wild forces that threatened to unravel all that our creator...dare I even say "Mother" had formed. Tyshala's darkness clashed and mingled with Krorone's light to bind this essence of chaos, yet it felt as if we were pushing back against the tides that Ilmos himself had created. Even Angelia's might embued by myself, Bhita, and even Ilmos in a desperate surge of strength and power did not stand a chance to bind the chaos. It seemed that Draunara's power was born of the very essence of the the forces used to create this world—unpredictable, endless, and simply outside of our scope of knowledge and capabilities.   The fight continued and our strength waned until we had no choice but to act. In our desperation, we forged a realm—a prison—an imperfect rift to contain the madness. Looking back now, I assume that it would need a name to reflect its true nature. The wild lands? The endless chaos? No, these are terrible names. What of the creatures and beasts? What of the magical plants and ever changing instability. It is still wild. The Feywild? Yes, I believe that's what we'll call it from now now. This creation came too quickly though, its edges raw and unstable built off of magics that the others don't quite understand yet. I akin it like a patchwork quilt hastily sewn together. We thought we were sealing it, but we were only forcing the chaos into a new vessel, one that could tear apart at the seams.   Draunara we believe was destroyed, at least we hope, but even if not that creature is contained for now. This Feywild pulses with newly found energy and focus now and has already begun to expand itself as the universe does. The instability we created lingers ever-present like a storm that never quite subsides. The toll it took on us—on all of us—remains. Even now, I feel the strain of the battle in my magic ebbing and pulling as if even the very arcane force I wield is tied to that chaotic prison. I fear what we’ve done. I fear what it will become. I cannot revel in the victory as my equals have been and I do not want bards singing of our praises or texts written of our triumphs for this mistake. This Feywild is not a solution but a holding place for a power we still cannot comprehend. We may have won the battle for now, but it will only be a matter of time before we will have to deal with it again. Perhaps when we do, our knowledge and capabilities will have improved more than Draunara's."
